Due to the nature of some activities, parents or carers may be encouraged to stay and support children who require 1:1 assistance. TERM 3 2026 PROGRAM - Engineering Tues 28th July = Flight Academy Get ready for take-off as we explore the exciting science of flight! Design, build and launch rockets, engineer the ultimate paper plane, and discover the forces that help things soar. Tues 4th August = LEGO Aquariums Put your creativity and problem-solving skills to the test to see who can create the strongest LEGO aquarium or fish tank capable of holding the greatest amount of water without leaking. Tues 11th August = LEGO Bridges Become a civil engineer as you design, build and test an epic bridge built for strength! Explore the science of structures to see whose LEGO bridge can support the most weight possible. Tuesday 18th August = LEGO Zipline Challenge Build the ultimate LEGO cable car to race down a zipline! This week we will be experimenting with weight, balance and aerodynamics to create the fastest design capable of travelling diagonally from start to finish. Tuesday 25th August = Cardboard Construction Can you outsmart the Big Bad Wolf? Inspired by The Three Little Pigs, you'll become a structural engineer as you design and build windproof houses, castles and geodesic domes from cardboard, then put them to the ultimate test against our "hurricane-force" industrial fan! Tuesday 1st September = Cardboard Fashion Transform everyday cardboard and paper materials into amazing wearable designs! Create shoes, hats, suits of armour, clothing, accessories and bags while exploring the design process and the art of engineering simple materials into something extraordinary. Tuesday 9th September = Chain Reaction Machines Become a master inventor as you engineer your own Rube Goldberg-inspired chain reaction machine! Combine ziplines, dominoes, Hot Wheels, PVC pipes and a range of loose parts to create an incredible sequence where every action triggers the next. Tuesday 15th September = Woodworking Get hands-on with real tools and discover the fundamentals of woodworking! Learn how to safely use screws, hammers, nails and drills as you design, build and create your own wooden projects. Tuesday 22nd September = Mega Marble Runs Slow and steady wins the race! Create a marble run that uses gravity, momentum and clever engineering to keep a ball travelling from top to bottom for the longest time possible.
